About
My name is Matthieu Pous, and for as long as I can remember, one question has been guiding me:
How can we live in truth, and how can space support this inner quest?
This question opened the doors of the world to me.
South America, Asia, India on several occasions, Bali, Thailand, Japan.
Each journey became an exploration of the sacred, a new way of seeing life. It led me to search as much in silence as in matter, in the breath as in the light.
Buddhist traditions, Bhakti yoga, Karma yoga, meditation, and non-duality gradually transformed my relationship to the body, the breath, and others.
Through retreats, ashrams, monasteries, and encounters with spiritual teachers in India and beyond, a clear realization emerged: consciousness unfolds when we create space to receive it.
At the same time, architecture became both my laboratory and my language.
During my studies at ZHAW in Zurich, I explored the evolution of architecture as a mirror of human evolution.
Movements such as Italo Moderno, philosophical writings, and the observation of cities and landscapes revealed to me that building is, above all, about asking living questions:
-
What kind of space invites presence?
-
What kind of light inspires trust?
-
What kind of silence allows the soul to settle?
At the end of my studies, my diploma project—a re-creation of educational spaces and their pedagogy—received the award for best student project of the year 2022.
This project envisioned a school as a place of inner maturation, a field of sensory experiences, a landscape of learning where each space supports curiosity, listening, and the relationship to oneself and others.
Behind this work was a clear intention: to contribute to a world where education elevates consciousness and encourages self-knowledge.
Over the years, one intuition grew stronger:
architecture and human beings evolve together.
The world is going through a deep transition—a quiet revolution. Bodies, minds, and societies are seeking new references, a new rhythm, more aligned with the planet and with each person’s truth.
The spaces we inhabit play a fundamental role in this movement. They influence the quality of our attention, our breathing, our relationships, and our capacity to feel connected.
From this understanding, YogaArchitecture was born.
A path where my two passions—spiritual inquiry and architecture—merge into a single vocation.
To imagine spaces that support healing, clarity, and softness.
To create homes, practice spaces, schools, and everyday environments that naturally guide us toward greater presence and alignment.
For me, YogaArchitecture is an art of inhabiting the world.
A way of weaving together light, matter, silence, and consciousness.
An invitation to transform space in order to transform life—and to discover, through architecture, a living path back to oneself.
